2. Principles of Photovoltaic IV Testing
The principles of photovoltaic IV testing are grounded in the photoelectric effect and circuit analysis. The photoelectric effect refers to the process where photon energy is absorbed by the semiconductor material in a solar cell, converting it into electron energy. This causes electrons to migrate and flow within the material, generating an electric current. During IV testing, leveraging the photoelectric effect, a specific voltage is applied to place the cell in forward and reverse bias states, enabling the measurement of its output current and voltage.
